Nottingham Forest make concrete advances to sign player, intensify contacts – Club hope for Reds agreement as soon as possible

Nottingham Forest are keen on signing Juventus’ Douglas Luiz in the summer window.

This has already been reported in Italy and Tuttosport now provide the lates on the Reds’ interest in the midfielder.

Nottingham Forest tried to sign the 26-year-old in the winter market, but the Serie A side rejected their approach.

The Brazil international has struggled since joining the Turin club from Aston Villa last summer. This has seen him linked to a few clubs over the past few months.

So far, the report states only Nottingham Forest are moving forward in a concrete manner for Luiz.

It’s claimed Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have intensified contacts with the player’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, in ‘recent days’. The representative has close ties to Edu Gaspar, who is expected to join Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinaki’s group.

The South American has a contract until 2029, but the Old Lady are willing to part ways with him in the upcoming window.

According to Tuttosport, Juve are hoping for Nottingham Forest to come forward with an offer.

They feel the Premier League club could try to sign Luiz on loan with a purchase option, which will be converted into an obligation if certain set conditions are met. This could be linked to Luiz’s appearances and Nottingham Forest qualifying for Europe for the 2026/27 season.

Tuttosport state: ‘Work in progress, which should be in full swing in a month or so.’

To sum it up, the parties seem to be in favour of finding an agreement and it can only be reversed if Luiz were to impress from now until the end of the season.
