Three players Nottingham Forest should consider to replace Morgan Gibbs-White including £46m maverick
Nottingham Forest are braced for interest in a number of their star players this summer transfer window.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have been the surprise package this season, with Champions League football potentially on the horizon.
That’s alerted a number of Premier League clubs and top European sides to take a look at a few of their best players.
Morgan Gibbs-White appears to be the player with the most demand after becoming an England international this term.
It’s understood that Manchester City are set to intensify their interest in Gibbs-White, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.
So, with that said, here are three players Nottingham Forest should consider to replace their playmaker, if indeed he does depart.
James McAtee (Manchester City)
Nottingham Forest have been credited with an interest in James McAtee, with Nuno and his recruitment team earmarking him as a potential replacement for Gibbs-White.
Despite playing a bit-part role for Man City, the left-footed attacker has netted seven goals this term, which is a respectable tally.
Although, Forest fans have made it clear they don’t want McAtee, so any forthcoming transfer perhaps wouldn’t be met with much fanfare.
Jack Rudoni (Coventry City)
A little rogue but certainly not one to be sniffed at is Coventry City’s Jack Rudoni, who has been one of the best players in the Championship this term.
Rudoni, 23, is an extremely technically gifted midfielder and has registered a whopping 22 goal involvements this season, helping his side qualify for the play-offs.
Coventry boss Frank Lampard was full of praise for Rudoni on the weekend after his brace against Middlesbrough.
“I work with him a lot because he’s easy to work with,” Lampard explained.
“He engages, he wants to get better. He’s got great talent, he’s got great energy. We work on finishing. He’s so infectious as a lad. Sometimes when you work with a player and you see him grow and improve individually, that’s a real pleasure too.”
Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth)
Justin Kluivert would certainly be a coup for Forest, but for that transfer to have any chance of materialising, they’d probably need to qualify for the Champions League.
Kluivert has really kicked on this term and is showing his true potential, netting 12 times whilst laying on six assists.
Bournemouth have reportedly slapped a £46m price tag on the Dutch maverick, so it certainly won’t be a cheap deal to complete.
But, with Forest potentially receiving up to £100m for Gibbs-White, they’ll have the funds to make it happen.
