West Ham keen on signing 21-year-old – Hammers ‘finally convinced’ to bet on player this week

West Ham United have been following FC Copenhagen’s Rodrigo Huescas for a while.

That’s according to the Mexico section of Olé, and they cover West Ham’s interest in the 21-year-old.

Copenhagen signed the right-back from Cruz Azul in July 2024 and he’s played 31 games so far.

Graham Potter is looking to reshape his squad in the summer window and Huescas could be on his target list.

The Hammers have been closely watching the Mexico international for months. He came off the bench after the break in his side’s 3-0 win over Brøndby IF and his performance in this game ‘finally convinced’ West Ham.

According to the report, the Premier League club want the right-back and could secure his services in the summer window by making a convincing offer to Copenhagen.

Huescas’ contract lasts until 2029 and is currently valued at €5m by Transfermarkt. West Ham may have to offer more than that to convince the Danish club to sanction his sale.

It’s worth noting Copenhagen Municipal Court recently found the fullback guilty of dangerous driving, which is something West Ham can address if he does arrive and set him on a safer path.

Potter has Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Vladimír Coufal as the two right-backs at his disposal. The 32-year-old Czech’s contract expires in June and he’s likely to be released at the end of this season.
