Wolves have to steal relegated Ipswich Town player once he returns to his parent club this summer
Wolves could be in for a busy summer of transfers, with midfield reinforcement seemingly high on the club’s radar.
Vitor Pereira’s midfield ranks have been threadbare at the best of times this season, with the Portuguese boss relying heavily on the duo of Andre and Joao Gomes.
Mix that with Tommy Doyle’s expected departure, the Molineux outfit could be seriously light in midfield next season.
This potential issue has seen Wolves be linked with Tochi Chukwuani as well as a host of other midfielders.
With that being said, there is one name that should definitely be on Wolves’ midfield shortlist, and that is Jens Cajuste.
Wolves should make move for Jens Cajuste
Despite suffering relegation with Ipswich Town, Cajuste is one of the few members of the Tractor Boys squad who can hold their heads high.
The Swede has been one of Ipswich’s best players this season, with his performances in the middle of the park helping prevent further suffering for Kieran McKenna’s side.

With this in mind, the Molineux outfit would be wise to take advantage of Ipswich’s relegation and steal the midfielder this summer.
The Tractor Boys did have an obligation to buy the 25-year-old permanently from Napoli, but that clause has since been voided following their relegation, opening the door for Wolves.
Wolves wanted to sign Cajuste in 2021
With a possible move for the midfielder on the cards, it would be interesting to note that Wolves were actually interested in Cajuste back in 2021.
Then manager Bruno Lage was reportedly keen on bringing in the Swede, who was plying his trade for FC Midtjylland at the time.
Four years on from those links, it begs the question as to whether Wolves would be willing to revisit their interest in Cajuste this summer.
