Wolves want to sign player Tottenham sold for just £7m last summer

One young striker, who Tottenham let go just last summer, could be back in the Premier League after just 12 months, with Wolves credited with an interest in the player.

While Dominic Solanke has had a decent first season at Tottenham Hotspur, the Lilywhites have at times lacked cover for the Englishman due to Richarlison’s injury troubles, while Mathys Tel is yet to make a big impact at N17.

However, one striker who Tottenham let go last summer is thriving in the Eredivisie this campaign, having found the back of the net 20 times across all competitions.

The player in question is Troy Parrott, who may be set for a return to the English top flight just a year after the Lilywhites decided to offload him.

Troy Parrott is a summer target for Wolves

It has now been revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs on The Wolfpack that Vítor Pereira’s men are eyeing a move for the Republic of Ireland international this summer.

The journalist says that Wolves have been impressed by Parrott’s all-round displays and the eye for goal he has shown at AFAS Stadium.

The Midlands club could offer the Tottenham academy graduate a route back into the Premier League, with the player having unfinished business in England after failing to become a fixture in the Spurs first-team.

Is this a sign that a Tottenham target is leaving Wolves?

The fact that Wolves are scouring the market for a striker suggests that they fully expect to lose their star striker this summer.

It has been widely reported that a whole host of clubs, including Spurs, have expressed an interest in Matheus Cunha, and it would seem that the 25-year-old is indeed on his way out of the Molineux Stadium.

According to various sources, Tottenham are considering activating Cunha’s £62m release clause, but as things stand, it appears Man Utd are the front runners to beat Spurs to the Wolves striker.
