Wrexham in negotiations over free transfer move for Premier League man
Wrexham are keen on luring the Wales international to the Racecourse Ground this summer. They are preparing for life in the Championship following their promotion from League One.
Davies, 32, is out of contract at the end of the month. He is due to become a free agent and will be weighing up his options.
In this latest update regarding his situation, Football Insider claim he is on the radar of the Red Dragons. Phil Parkinson’s side finished 2nd in the third tier table behind Birmingham City.
Speaking back in April, Parkinson had this to say about his recruitment plans, as per ESPN: “I’m confident we will be well prepared for that (step up). I think that a lot of tough decisions will be made this summer, in terms of who we bring in and how we add to this fantastic squad of lads we’ve got, but let’s see if we can build a squad to compete at that level.”
He added: “What we’ve always tried to do is make sure the culture in the club is right and I think that’s key — no superstars, no egos in the dressing room and we’ve got to try and get that balance right again.”
Wrexham could see Davies as someone to boost their defensive ranks. If they signed him, he would add more experience to their squad.
The Welshman has been playing at the top level throughout his career so snapping him up would be a big statement of intent. The player will be weighing up his options at this moment in time.
Davies started his career at Swansea City and rose up through their academy ranks. He broke into their first-team as a youngster and went on to play 85 matches.
Spurs landed him back in 2014 and he has been a great servant to them over the last 11 years. He has made 358 appearances altogether, finding the net on 12 occasions.

Wrexham will have to fork out a lot of money on wages if they were able to secure Davies’ services. They wouldn’t have to pay a transfer fee for him though which would be a boost.
Their chances of getting him will depend on what he wants to do. He has never played outside of the top flight and may still want to test himself at the highest level possible.
On the other hand, he would get plenty of game time with the Red Dragons. They are an ambitious club and would be an exciting project to be apart of.
