Wrexham want transfer for player who Jurgen Klopp thinks is ‘exceptional’ and Man City considered signing
Wrexham have been linked with a player who has previous ties to both Manchester City and Liverpool.
With the summer transfer window just days away from opening, the rumour mill at Wrexham is really heating up.
It has been reported this week that Wrexham lead the race for Sunusi Ibrahim of CF Montreal.
Fans aren’t too keen on signing Ibrahim, but there are a number of other players rumoured to be interesting the Red Dragons.
Aaron Cresswell could join on a free transfer next month when his West Ham United deal officially runs out.
Another potential free agent, Harry Darling will make a contract decision soon as he weighs up an offer from Swansea City amid interest from Wrexham.

Wrexham interested in Danny Ings
It was rumoured last week that Wrexham could be in the race to sign Danny Ings.
The striker, like Cresswell, is expected to leave West Ham in the coming month amid interest from several clubs.

Now, the Daily Mail have published a report mentioning the club’s interest in the Englishman, writing: “And we can reveal that this time the Red Dragons are keen on West Ham pair Danny Ings and Aaron Cresswell, who are both out of contract this summer, along with Fulham’s Tom Cairney – although Cottagers boss Marco Silva recently revealed talks are ongoing over a new deal for his captain.”
Jurgen Klopp loves Danny Ings, and Manchester City wanted Wrexham target
Now 32, Ings has had a prolific career in the top two tiers of England, which included a spell with Liverpool.
Speaking back in 2020, as per the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp waxed lyrical about the now Wrexham target:
“With Ingsy, he is a very likeable person. He had a very good relationship with all the staff members as they created a special relationship.
“I came in October 2015 and Ingsy got injured in my first session which is obviously not a good start. All the people in the medical department work so it can happen again. That is really not cool.
“There was a lot of worries but he is a very positive person. Seeing him now performing like this is wonderful. Really nice to see. He is there and is close to go back to the English national team.
“The goals he scores are exceptional. That’s Ingsy.”
Meanwhile, it was reported by The Athletic back in 2021 that Manchester City were considering a move for the number nine.
