Oxford United have signed midfielder Myles Peart-Harris on a permanent transfer from Premier League club Brentford.
The U’s have secured the 23-year-old’s services on a short-term deal until the end of the season as the club looks to fight Championship relegation.
Peart-Harris made his first appearance of the season for the Bees on January 4 in a 4-2 win over Everton.
Spending last season on loan at Swansea City, the ex-Chelsea youngster played predominantly as a winger and played 30 times for the Welsh club, scoring three goals and bagging four assists.
His breakthrough season came at League One level with Forest Green Rovers where he scored six goals and assisted four in a season-long loan spell in Gloucestershire.
Peart-Harris has signed for the club in time to be available for Friday night’s FA Cup third round clash at MK Dons.
Speaking to the club website, Peart-Harris said: “I can’t wait to get started and make my mark.
“It’s a short-term deal, but this is a great opportunity for me to show my qualities and make a real impact in the Championship.
“I enjoy scoring goals and creating chances, but I also pride myself on working hard for the team. I’ve had a lot of different experiences for my age, from academy football at Chelsea to playing regularly at this level last season, and I feel ready to come in and deliver for this club.
“I’m really looking forward to being involved straight away and competing for my place.”
Oxford’s Head of Football Operations Ed Waldron added: “Myles is a very direct player with the fitness, pace and intelligence to make an immediate impact. He gives us real attacking threat and versatility in the final third and, importantly, has a work ethic and mentality we value.

“Although he is still young, Myles brings proven experience at Championship level and has already shown he can influence games in this division. We believe this is an excellent opportunity for both the player and the club.

London-born Peart-Harris’ former club Brentford previously described the midfielder’s playing style as: “A dynamic midfield player and he drives forward with the ball. He has great quality on the ball.
“He can score goals and deliver assists. He is great at arriving in the penalty area at the right time.”
