Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of a new striker has reportedly intensified, with the North London club identifying Sunderland and Netherlands forward Brian Brobbey as one of their priority targets ahead of the new Premier League season.

The 24-year-old striker has enjoyed a meteoric rise following an outstanding debut campaign in England and an impressive showing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, prompting him to address the growing speculation linking him with a blockbuster move to Spurs.

Brobbey joined Sunderland from Ajax in the summer of 2025 for a reported £25 million and quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s most dangerous forwards. His strength, relentless pressing, aerial dominance, and clinical finishing played a pivotal role in helping the Black Cats secure an unlikely Europa League qualification.

Tottenham, now looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of another demanding campaign, are believed to view Brobbey as an ideal addition to their frontline. Club officials reportedly admire his physical profile and believe he possesses the qualities needed to thrive in Ange Postecoglou’s high-intensity attacking system.

Interest in the Dutch international gathered even more momentum after his sensational World Cup display against Sweden, where he scored twice in a commanding 5-1 victory to underline his growing reputation on the international stage.

Responding to the increasing speculation surrounding his future, Brobbey insisted his primary focus remains on Sunderland and continuing his development. Despite Tottenham’s admiration, convincing Sunderland to part ways with one of their prized assets will prove extremely difficult. The Wearside club view Brobbey as central to their long-term ambitions and have no intention of selling unless an extraordinary offer arrives.
