Ipswich Town can confirm that Conor Chaplin has left the club following the expiration of his contract.

The 29-year-old forward brings an end to a memorable spell at Portman Road, having played a pivotal role in one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history.

Since arriving from Barnsley in the summer of 2021, Chaplin established himself as a firm fan favourite thanks to his goals, creativity and tireless work ethic. He made well over 150 appearances for the Blues, scoring crucial goals as the club secured back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League.

His standout 2022/23 campaign saw him finish among the division’s leading scorers, earning widespread praise for his performances as Ipswich ended their long wait for promotion to the Championship. He remained a key figure the following season, helping Kieran McKenna’s side achieve another remarkable promotion to the top flight.

Although opportunities became more limited during the most recent campaign, Chaplin continued to demonstrate his professionalism and commitment whenever called upon, maintaining his status as a respected member of the dressing room.

Everyone at Ipswich Town would like to thank Conor for his outstanding contribution to the football club over the past five years. His commitment, leadership and unforgettable moments on the pitch have left a lasting legacy at Portman Road.

We wish Conor and his family every success and happiness in the next chapter of his career.
