Millwall locked in €5m transfer battle over Swedish striker

Millwall still have some business to do with less than a week until the deadline and Jusef Erabi could be the Lions’ next arrival.

Millwall and Genk have both submitted €5m bids for Hammarby striker Jusef Erabi, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Millwall have made a solid start to the Championship this season, picking up six points out of a possible nine. The Lions made it through to the third round of the EFL Cup last night after beating Coventry City 2-1 with a squad full of youth players.

Alex Neil will be pleased with what he’s seen from his side thus far this campaign, aside from their only loss to date against Middlesbrough at home two weeks ago.

The South London side have been terrific in 2025 and have evolved into a real force in the second division since the arrival of Neil. Their transfer business also shouldn’t go unnoticed, with some shrewd signings made and six arrivals so far this summer.

Now, a new signing could arrive at The Den with less than a week until the deadline.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Millwall are after Hammarby striker Jusef Erabi. It is reported that the Lions have bid €5m for his signature.

Genk are also said to have matched the offer, and it is now up to Erabi as to which club he joins.

The 22-year-old has made 18 appearances so far in the Allsvenskan and scored four times, while assisting once. The Swedish forward’s contract runs until December 2026, so unless he signs a new contract, a move is likely to happen.

Jusef Erabi is developing into a real talent

Erabi is quickly becoming a real force in the Allsvenskan, and it’s no surprise he has attracted interest. The Millwall and Genk target notched eight goals and two assists in 23 league appearances last term, and the season before scored seven times.

The 22-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Sweden youth team across the U19 and U21 levels, scoring seven goals across the age groups. A move to a higher-level team could be crucial if he is to make it to the senior squad.

It was reported earlier this month that Swansea City had bid for Erabi, and the striker has also had interest from Fulham, Leeds United and Norwich City. €5m is a serious bid from Millwall, so the Swedish man could be a real coup.

Millwall want depth in attacking areas

The Lions have been known to be unlucky with injuries and recently lost new signing Alfie Doughty due to a hamstring injury. Camiel Neghli is said to be fine despite limping off against Sheffield United last weekend.

Millwall already have Mihailo Ivanovic, Josh Coburn, Kevin Nisbet and Macaulay Langstaff as their senior strikers, and if they were to secure the signing of Erabi, it would take it to six.

With less than a week until the deadline, Neil will want a squad that can definitely challenge for the play-offs and any player that can strengthen the squad puts the Lions in a better position to do so.
