The U’s lost 1-0 to Sunderland thanks to a penalty given away by defender Christ Makosso and had a foul given against Will Lankshear who was through on goal.
Head coach Matt Bloomfield felt aggrieved by these decisions in addition to judgements in previous games as the Yellows try and pick up some crucial points this weekend against Middlesbrough.
“It’s hard because they’re not costing us as such, it’s just little things in games where they might not go our way,” U’s winger Mills said.
“At the minute we’re not putting the points on the board and that’s not down to anyone else; that’s down to us. But little things in games…could help us do that maybe.
“I think you always get little runs of time you’ll get things and times you won’t.
“It all balances itself out eventually, it’s just seeming at the minute we’re in a little run of maybe not getting things and it’s sometimes tough to deal with.”
Mills is the son of former Premier League and England right back Danny Mills who attends all of his son’s games.

When asked about the possibility of playing a more defensive right wing back role in a back five, the 22-year-old mentioned the influence of his father on his game.
“I discuss a lot with him, to be fair,” Mills said
“He comes to every game, and we pretty much go through every game; good things, bad things, things to work on so I can be the best player possible. I talk to him a lot regarding the games.
“My dad was a right back so I can obviously lean on him for learnings and things like that in that sort of position.

“I’ve played there in a couple of games, and I feel like I’ve done well enough to say I can do that if needed.”
After playing against Premier League opposition last time out, the English forward has a lot of self belief that can compete against defenders at the highest level.
“They’re very sharp on the ball, they’re very drilled and good at what they do.

“I think any little mistake probably gets punished more than they do maybe in the Championship, but I think that’s the difference in the level really.
“I back myself against anyone, any defender I’m up against.
“I relish the challenge of playing against people in better leagues.”
