Chelsea Fans Have Lost it With One Player After Surprise 2-2 Draw vs Hull City

Chelsea fans have been reacting on social media after Xabi Alonso’s men’s poor performance against Hull City in the Premier League.

Since returning to the Premier League, Hull have enjoyed a flying start to the campaign, beating Manchester United and Coventry City before drawing against Aston Villa.

After three matches, Hull are the only side yet to concede a goal as they currently sit third in the Premier League table with seven points, two behind Arsenal and Manchester City.

On Saturday afternoon, Hull’s clean sheet record was broken after Morgan Rogers opened the scoring with seven minutes on the clock.

Despite an early setback, Hull showed great grit and determination as goals from Mohamed Belloumi earned the Tigers a 2-1 lead at the interval.

In the second period, Alonso’s team improved, and with 67 minutes on the clock, talisman Joao Pedro made it 2-2 from close range. Reacting to Pedro’s goal, ex-Arsenal man Paul Merson said on Sky Sports: “It shouldn’t have happened. Hull needed to do better.”

Eventually, the match ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw, with both sides taking one point home.

Taking to social media, Chelsea fans were less than impressed with the performance of defender Mal Gusto, who started on the right side of defence for the hosts.

The 23-year-old managed to lose possession 12 times while making just two interceptions. He also failed to make any successful tackles. He had a pass success rate of 85.6% and was eventually replaced by Danny Welbeck with 78 minutes on the clock.

On social media, one fan said: “Gusto needs to go for free.”

Another tweeted: “Sick to the death of watching Malo Gusto.”

A third fan added: “I can’t watch anymore of this Gusto disasterclass. Please. Get rid.”

Someone else wrote: “Gusto is an abomination of a footballer.”

A fifth commented: “You have no idea I much I hate to see Gusto on my screen. I’m in pain watching him.”

Another Chelsea fan said: “What’s so annoying is if Chelsea had slapped £40-50 mil on Gusto’s head, someone would have bitten in the summer. £75 mil was crazy. What does he do?”

One person urged Chelsea to sell him as soon as possible, stating: “Chelsea need to sell Gusto in January.”

As a result of their draw at Stamford Bridge, Hull remain in third place in the Premier League table and will return to action next weekend against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Meanwhile, Chelsea moved up to fourth, having amassed six points from four matches; they will be back in Premier League action next weekend by taking on fellow London club Brentford.
