Everton are being linked with a move to sign James Ward-Prowse in a potential reunion with David Moyes.
Everton brought in a couple of new midfielders over the summer as David Moyes re-tooled his engine room.
Moyes has loved Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s impact, though Merlin Rohl is still adjusting to the Premier League.
Rohl will be a long-term part of Everton’s midfield, but Moyes may look for more of a proven midfield option come January.

Transfer insider Dean Jones suggests that Everton will ‘look at the possibility’ of signing Ward-Prowse in January.
Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo wants to move Ward-Prowse on in January, and Moyes could pounce.
Moyes signed Ward-Prowse for West Ham in 2023, and the former Southampton man racked up seven Premier League goals in his only season under the Scot.
Ward-Prowse has struggled ever since Moyes left West Ham, and he may feel that a reunion can get him back on track.
Signing the 31-year-old midfielder may divide Everton fans, but Moyes knows how to get the best out of him and could chase a January deal.

Moyes was a big fan of Ward-Prowse at West Ham and even compared his mentality to that of Declan Rice.
Speaking to the London Evening Standard in 2023, Moyes praised Ward-Prowse for his character as much as his famed dead-ball ability.
“I think his character is very similar to Declan Rice, he’s a really good boy,” Moyes said. “Everybody knows, Southampton supporters especially know, about his delivery, his assists, what he’s capable of,” he added.
Ward-Prowse loved his time under Moyes as well, telling BBC Sport in 2024 that he had done an ‘incredible job’ in charge of the Hammers.
“I think he’s done an incredible job,” said Ward-Prowse. “All I can say from this season is that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with him,” he added.
If Everton do make a move for Ward-Prowse, the midfielder would surely jump at the chance to work under Moyes again, especially as he struggles for playing time at West Ham.
