Hull City star heads out the exit door following end of deal

Hull City have cut ties with the young attacker and he has a big decision to make on what to do next.

Hull City youngster Stan Hewitt has left the club, as confirmed by their official club website.

Hull City have cut ties with the prospect following the end of his scholarship deal. HCAFC haven’t offered the player professional terms.

Hewitt, 19, saw his two-year scholarship extended into a third year at the start of November after spending the majority of last season out injured. However, he has now left the MKM Stadium and will have to weigh up his next move in the game.

The Tigers have announced his departure and the forward will be weighing up his options. He is now available for other clubs to swoop in and sign for nothing.

Hull City have made a decent start to the new Championship season and find themselves in the play-offs after their first 15 fixtures. They are inside the top six along with Stoke City, Preston North End and Millwall.

The East Yorkshire outfit won 3-2 at home to Portsmouth last time out before the international break and have lost just once in their last eight outings. Enis Destan, Kyle Joseph and Joe Gelhardt got their goals against Pompey at the MKM Stadium as Sergej Jakirovic’s men picked up another three points on their own patch.

Hewitt joined Hull City back in 2015 and has since risen up through their academy. He has been a regular for HCAFC at various different youth levels.

However, he didn’t make a senior appearance for the Tigers. He has had loan spells in non-league with the likes of Liversedge and Bridlington Town in the past to get some experience under his belt.

Hewitt is an attacker who can play down the middle or on either flank if needed. He initially broke into Hull City U18s team before making the step up to the U21s.

Their development squad are managed by former Bradford City man Conor Sellars. The 33-year-old joined back in 2022 and has been in his post for three years.

What now for Hull City?

Hull City are back in action next weekend as they look to keep their momentum going. HCAFC face an away trip to QPR.

The Tigers will be in confident mood as they look to get another result on the board against the Hoops. They will be in good spirits as they prepare to make the trip down to London.

Jakirovic was picked as their head coach back in June. He was selected as their replacement for Ruben Selles.
